Special Projects

Technical Education in Energy Efficiency and Construction (TE3C)
A collaborative effort between Sierra College's CACT and the California Conservation Corps, this program for 18 to 25 year olds provides training and employment opportunities in the environmental fields across the state. About 50 students will graduate from TE3C by next spring. Click here for more information.

Tech-Explorer
In response to employers seeking technical employees, the Sierra College CACT developed an innovative program to attract young people to highly paid, in-demand technical and manufacturing careers in California. The CACT Tech-Explorer turnkey project makes it easy for teachers to move students' minds by introducing hands-on fabrication techniques. The projects are offered in academic English, math, science and history middle school and high school classes and meet state curriculum standards. As a result of hands-on learning using tools such as mills, lathes and drills, students may discover a career path in designing, producing and repairing automated equipment. Rapid Prototyping Services
To help growing companies from Sacramento to California’s northern border develop products more quickly and cost effectively, the Sierra College CACT offers Rapid Prototyping services. Using state-of-the-art Dimension printers, manufacturing, technology, construction, engineering, architecture and design companies and students can transform their unique creations into solid form. Green workforce development for youth kicks off
Read article by Stephen Graff, U.S. Dept of Energy, about energy efficiency training developed by Sierra College's CACT as part of a collaborative effort with the California Conservation Corps.

The CACT @ Sierra College Sierra responded quickly to our business needs and we were immensely impressed with the instructor's wealth of industry knowledge. He reviewed our processes and then customized the training to be more relevant and applicable to our organization.
